This fifteen acre property sits smack-dab in the middle of North Shore horse country. The historic home is surrounded by pastures and bucolic views. We redesigned the driveway, setting up an axial view over the new swimming pool, through the cabana, into the pasture beyond. Large doors on the front and back of the cabana can be opened to celebrate the view. A square lawn surrounded by perennial beds creates a welcoming anteroom between the driveway and the pool area; but instead of classic cottage garden plants the beds are filled with native forbs and grasses, referencing the surrounding meadows. A bluestone walk connects the new guest parking to the front door, while a seamless extension of an existing fieldstone wall with reclaimed granite posts reinforces the axial view to the pool complex.
