Classic Colonial

This updated classic colonial features traditional materials in some unexpected ways. The entry drive lands at a herringbone patterned brick parking court with a curving brick walk leading to the front door. A narrower brick path, through a picket gate, de-emphasizes the route to the mudroom. The ample rear terrace features thermal bluestone with insets of reused brick from the former terrace. Raised fieldstone seat walls are capped with bluestone while wide bluestone and fieldstone steps lead to the lawn and fire pit terrace constructed of tumbled bluestone. Riots of color are provided by mixed shrubs and perennials such as hydrangeas, roses, purple sage, lavender and dwarf blue spruce.
